This is the most widely used species of eucalyptus oil preferred by most chemists and botanists because of its usefulness. Cineole content ranges from 60 – 70 percent. It is treated to increase the cineole content since crude oil properties do not meet the requirement of most pharmacopoeias.

Eucalyptus radiata

Also referred to as “narrow-leaved peppermint,” it is an average-sized tree. Its bark is fibrous and its crude oil has a 65 to 70 % of cineole content.

Eucalyptus citriodora

It is also known as “lemon-scented gum,” a very large tree and its name has gone through transformation now known as Corymbia. The main constituent of this oil is citronellal, and its importance is for perfume and industrial uses.Eucalyptus absorbs a lot of water and when planted in water-logged areas it solves many drainage issues. It drains water thus eliminating malaria almost completely. This is because mosquito breed in marshy or water logged areas.
